Al-Bahr Mosque, the most famous and most beautiful of Damietta mosques, is located on the eastern bank of the Nile. It was renovated for the first time in the year 1009 AH during the reign of the Ottoman Empire, and built on an area of 1200 square meters in Andalusian style, then it was restored and rebuilt for the second time in the Andalusian style also in 1967, its walls are decorated with the finest Islamic inscriptions, having five domes and two minarets, and attached to it a cultural and religious library. It was restored in 1997 AD and was opened on the night of Al-Isra and Al-Maraj  in 1418 AH.
